Issues | Building a Strategic Plan for the City
We are blessed with beautiful parks, amazing lakes surrounding our city, and an abundance of cultural and recreational activities. We have the most charming downtown in the nation, and retail and dining in every corner of our lovely suburban city.
Few cities can stake claim to all we have to be proud of. These wonderful amenities are a part of our brand, but an integral component of our brand is our culture. We are a highly engaged community that believes in collaboration among community partners and stakeholders as well as with regional partners.
We look out for each other and our neighbors and expect our businesses and organizations to maintain the highest professional standards. And, we are passionate about education and our children’s future.
The fantastic attributes of our city were not all per chance. Elected leaders, civic leaders, and stakeholders over the last few decades advocated for and made difficult decisions to enable our citizens to enjoy such a high quality of life.
We stalled for a decade after the last recession, but we moved forward the last 4 years by engaging our citizens and implementing a long term strategic plan, a comprehensive plan, and a welcoming business environment to help spur commercial growth.
With another term in office, I will keep our focus on the success factors our citizens chose in our strategic plan and continue to bring quality businesses and housing to our community.
